Scheldt Radar Network

The River Scheldt Radar Network contributes to safe and smooth shipping traffic in the Scheldt area and uses various technical systems.
Scheldt Area Vessel Traffic Services (VTS) ensures the safe and smooth handling of shipping traffic by cooperating with stakeholders (links in the nautical chain) via information exchange.

The Joint Nautical Authority is in charge of traffic management.

The network supports the VTS in the Scheldt area and consists of manned traffic control centres and 55 unmanned radar stations.
