Changes to the VHF at the Zandvliet traffic centre on 22 November 2026

On 29 September 2026, the Permanent Supervisory Committee for Shipping on the Scheldt approved a new classification for this area. Both the traffic and radar channels have been adjusted accordingly:

Traffic channels:

- Channel 12: buoy 55 – buoy 92, ‘VTS Zandvliet’

- Channel 81: buoy 92 – buoy 116, ‘VTS Kruisschans’

Radar channels:

- Channel 21: buoy 55 – buoy Zuid-Saeftinghe

- Channel 04: buoy Zuid-Saeftinghe – buoy 92

- Channel 66: buoy 92 – buoy 116

From buoy 116 onwards, channel 10 is used as the ship-to-ship traffic channel.

What does this mean?

On Sunday morning, 22 november at 7.30, all waterway users must switch to the correct channels. The full overview of the VHF procedures will be made available at https://www.vts-scheldt.net/nautical/vhf
